Another Ugly Loss, and Seeding Implications

We played poorly (again). We mounted a 2nd half comeback (again), but this time, the Buffalo Bills could not completed a pass on a 2 point conversion for the win. This loss to the Eagles is not the end of the world. Based on our record, and the remaining games, we could be the 5, 6 or 7 seed. Now, the AFC North (PIT, BAL, CIN, CLE) will be up for grabs in a winner-take-all week 18 matchup between the Pittsburg Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens. There are currently about 24 potential playoff scenarios in the AFC, but we have already punched our ticket to the dance. We were also able to donate another $500 to The Gathering Place (https://tgpdenver.org/) Bringing our season 2 total to $9502! And over the last 2 seasons we have been able to raise

If:

  • the Chargers lose, and the Texans lose to the Colts, the Bills could be the 5 seed with a win against the jets

  • the Chargers win, and the Texans lose, the Bills would be the 6 seed with a win against the jets

  • the Chargers win and Texans wins, we would be the 7 seed regardless of the outcome of our game

  • the Chargers, Texans and Bills lose, the Bills would be the 7 seed.

As it stands now, if we assume the Bills beat the Jets, and Houston wins against Indy, and the Chargers lose to the Broncos, and the Baltimore Ravens beat the Steelers for the AFC North, the AFC playoff picture would look something like this

  1. Broncos (1st Round Bye)

  2. Patriots

  3. Jaguars

  4. Ravens (but potentially Steelers)

  5. Texans

  6. Bills

  7. Chargers

and the Wildcard round playoff games would be

  • Chargers at Patriots

  • Bills at Jaguars

  • Texans at Ravens

CRAZY!!!
